‘Pancake plus’ breakfast set today

NEW WATERFORD – The public is invited to the “pancake plus” breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m. today at the New Waterford United Methodist Church, 46925 S. State St. Donations will be accepted.

‘Drive-by’ chicken dinner planned

LEETONIA – The Leetonia United Methodist Church at 50 Lisbon St. will hold its monthly chicken “drive-by” from 4 to 6 p.m. Oct. 17, or until sold out. The meal consists of a stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Cost is $7. Proceeds will be used for the new roof at the church.

Lighthouse to meet at Alliance golf course

ALLIANCE – Alliance Lighthouse will meet at 10 a.m. Nov. 5 at Sleepy Hollow Golf Course, 374 Homeworth Road. Senior Pastor Edie Bradley of El Shaddai Dominican Ministries in Youngstown will speak. She graduated from World Harvest Bible College and was ordained in 1999 through Pastor Rod Parsley, World Harvest Church Ministerial Fellowship. She and her husband, Warren Bradley, reside in Youngstown. Those attending are asked to bring snacks and/or fingerfoods to share. Admission is $3 per person.

German dinner offered at Salem church

SALEM – Emmanuel Lutheran Church is hosting a German dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 20. The menu offers sauerkraut, spatzle, sausage, sauerbraten, mashed potatoes, red cabbage, applesauce, rolls, German desserts, iced tea, punch and coffee. Musical entertainment will be provided by Jimmy Knezetic. Cost is $12 for adults, $6 for ages 6 to 12 and free for 5 and under. Grief support sessions to begin Oct. 23

SALEM – All adults who are grieving the loss of a loved one through death are welcome to attend New Horizon’s grief support sessions in the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Education Building at 251 S. Broadway Ave. The sessions begin from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Oct. 23 and continue for six weeks. The facilitator will be Kim Calhoun of Hospice of the Valley. Keelings to perform at Canfield Church

CANFIELD – The Keelings, a Southern gospel group from Hadley, Pa., will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday at Western Reserve United Methodist Church, 4580 Canfield Road. A free will offering will be taken. The Keelings are celebrating their 20th year of performing concerts.

‘Men’s Rally’ breakfast offered Oct. 19

COLUMBIANA – The Men of Faith “Men’s Rally in the Valley 2014” monthly breakfast meeting begins at 8 a.m. Oct. 19 at Das Dutch House, 14895 South Ave. Speaker will be B.J.Dinsmore. Special music will be provided by Joyce Alcorn. Canned goods will be accepted for a local food pantry.

‘Awakening to God’s Call’ set in Damascus

DAMASCUS – The Damascus United Methodist Church is inviting the community to its upcoming three-day experience on “Awakening to God’s Call” at 10:10 a.m. and 7 p.m. Oct. 20 and 7 p.m. Oct. 21 and 22. The Rev. John and Filese Hauser will share the Gospel of Jesus Christ and God’s love and redeeming grace. Son Grace Music Ministries, of which Rev. John and Filese are chief executive officer and president, is 27 years old. The Hausers have traveled back and forth, across the United States as well as abroad to Europe, Poland, England, Old Mexico, Canada, etc. The Hausers are based out of Oklahoma City Oklahoma where they reside when they are not traveling in their Gospel Coach around the country in ministry or in overseas appointments.
