Sassy Silks perform regionally

HANOVERTON- The Sassy Silks of Hanoverton traveled on Sept. 28 to Geneva to take part in the Geneva Grape Jamboree. The weekend event drew a large crowd of over 5,000 to line the streets and watch the over 200 units in the parade.

The local team joined other twirling and dance teams to compete in the day’s activities being judged by The American Judging Association. The Sassy Silks took second place in the marching division.

On Oct. 12 the group will be at Drug Mart in Minerva twirling and accepting donations for new costumes, flags, flag batons and other equipment.

The team will participate in the Columbiana Christmas Parade at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 22, Lisbon Christmas Parade Nov. 30 and the East Liverpool Christmas Parade at 5 p.m. Dec. 7. The group has also been invited to kick off the holiday shopping season at 2 p.m. Dec. 1 at the Alliance Carnation Mall. They will be performing in the center of the mall.
