West Branch homecoming is this weekend

The West Branch High School Fall Homecoming is scheduled this weekend.

The queen will be crowned prior to the start of the varsity football game versus Carrollton at 7 p.m. Friday. The queen’s tiara will be donated by Troll’s Jewelry in Salem.

The dance will be held Saturday night in the school gymnasium with the theme “The Great Gatsby.”

Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for student pictures by Dunlap Photography. Music will be provided by DJ Frank Edie.

The senior queen candidates include Brianna Brown, Erin Carver, Kaitlyn Edie, Allie Harris, Haley Kozar, Marina Moffett and Rachel Murphy.

– Brianna Brown, daughter of Jason and Melissa Brown of Homeworth. Brianna is the Warrior Princess and member of the Pep Club.

– Erin Carver, daughter of Loren Carver of Sebring and Jennifer Wardle of Alliance. Erin is a member of the track team, including qualifying for state twice in two relay events, as well as a past member of the soccer team. She is also a member of SADD and Ruriteens and attends youth group at Damascus Friends Church.

– Kaitlyn Edie, daughter of Frank and Tonya Edie of Homeworth. Kaitlyn is a three-year letter winner on the volleyball team. She is also a member of Young & Alive, Pep Club, Environmental Club, yearbook staff, Art Club, Ruriteens, SADD, NBC choir, concert choir and painting.

– Allie Harris, daughter of Ken and Linda Harris of Beloit. Allie is a past member of the cheerleading squad, including captain her junior year. She is also a member of Young & Alive, concert choir, NBC choir, theater, National Honor Society, SADD and Pep Club, as well as vice president of Leo Club and a Buckeye Girls State delegate.

– Hayley Kozar, daughter of Ronnie and Tracy Kozar of Salem. Hayley is a member of the yearbook staff, Future Teachers of America and the Pep Club.

– Marina Moffett, daughter of Randy and Rhonda Moffett of Beloit. Marina is a member of varsity cheerleading and competition cheerleading. She is also a member of Young & Alive, theater, Pep Club, Environmental Club, Ruriteens and Future Teachers of America.

– Rachel Murphy, daughter of Eva Murphy and Carl Binius of Beloit and Jerry Murphy of South Carolina. Rachel is a past member of the cheerleading squad. She is also a member of National Honor Society, student council, yearbook, Pep Club, Leo Club, Young & Alive and theater, as well as an NBC Leadership Conference participant.
