WP Lions celebrate 20th charter night
WEST POINT – The West Point Lions Club celebrated its 20th annual charter night with a dinner on Dec. 7 at the Lisbon United Methodist Church. President Pat Tressler welcomed 59 guests. Lion Marie Amato led the singing of “God Bless America” and Charolette Davis lead the Pledge of Allegiance. The invocation was given by the Rev. Pam Gamble of the church.
The Lions clubs of Alliance, Canal Fulton, Calcutta, Canfield, East Liverpool, Girard, Toronto, Lisbon, Northwest, Wellsville and West Point were represented at the dinner. Entertainment was provided by four cast members of “Jingle My Bell 2” from the Trinity Playhouse. Janis Mundy did protocol and introduced guests. Sandy Shulas presented history of the West Point club.
Past International President Jim Coffee and Past District Governor Ron Andersen presented charter member pins to Mundy, Marie Amato, Davis, Jane May, Shulas and Marlene Smith. Charter members not present were Joan Cope, Betty Colian and Debra Rambo. District Governor Tom Zickefoose presented the charter members with 20-year certificates. Past District Governor John Woodside presented Knights of the Blind awards to members Mundy, Davis, May and Dolly Campbell. Lions Marlene Smith, Veronica Wolski and May lit memorial candles for the clubs seven deceased members and guiding Lion.
West Point’s annual Christmas party will be held on Dec. 16.
