WB community dinner, basket raffle, auction is Friday

BELOIT – A community dinner of chicken and biscuits will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the West Branch High School cafeteria.

Cost is $8 for adults and $5 for children. Carryouts are available (bring containers). A basket raffle with over 30 baskets and a silent auction will be held during dinner and throughout the night while the Warriors face Alliance in boys basketball.

Among the auction items are an Ohio State basket, LEGO basket, Kalahari Indoor Water Park basket and a gift card wreath valued at $150. Tickets for the raffle baskets are $1 each or six for $5. Doors open at 4 p.m. and winning tickets will be drawn after halftime of the basketball game. Winners need not be present. All winners will be contacted by phone.

The dinner and raffle are sponsored by the “Keep US West Branch” levy committee which also has the following community activities planned: March 2, a Cosmic Bowling event is planned with a DJ and prizes from 3 to 5 p.m. at College Plaza Lanes in Alliance; April 7, The Harlem Wizards will be playing a Tricks, Hoops and Ally Oops against the “Keep US West Branch” faculty and community basketball team.

Tickets for the basketball game will be on sale at the West Branch athletic department; and on May 3, a community parade will be held prior to the prom promenade at West Branch High School.
