Western Reserve Rangers elect 2014 officers

BERLIN CENTER – Officers were elected when the Western Reserve Rangers 4-H Club met recently. The new officers are President Tiffany Voland, Vice Presidents Ian Hames and Levi Smith, Secretaries Emily Smith and Erin Styka, Treasurers Karl Reph and Ian Hames, Recreation Leaders, Camille Kirk and Olivia Haid and Health and Safety Officers, Olivia Haid, Camille Kirk, Collin Meehan, Olivia Reph and William Reph.

Emily Smith reported that members of 2014 the Mahoning County 4-H Fashion Board would soon receive a letter of congratulations and notified of the first meeting in March.

The 2014 members of the Mahoning County Junior Fair Board that are Ranger members were congratulated. They are Andy Prosser, Katie Prosser, Emily Smith Levi Smith, Erin Styka and Jena Styka.

Teens and Advisors of the club are attending the 2014 Ohio 4-H Teen and Volunteer Conference in Columbus on March 8. Levi Smith will also be addressing the teens at their luncheon about the benefits of being an Ohio 4-H State Ambassador. Ranger 4-H Club Alumni Gabrielle Marinescu, a student at Ohio State University, will also be assisting with the conference in conjunction with her job at the Ohio State University Extension State Office.

Members with market livestock projects were reminded about the upcoming mandatory quality assurance workshops at South Range Schools on Saturday, March 1. The club members voted to donate funds to the Berlin and Ellsworth Community Easter egg hunt in April. The club recognized and congratulated Robert Voland who will be his class valedictorian for Jackson Milton High School.

Following the meeting, Advisors Laura Jones, Robin Reph and Amelia Shrader registered the members and their projects. The next meeting begins at 7 p.m. March 13.
