Local teens in pageant
NORTH?BENTON- Anna Curtis, daughter of John and Jane Curtis of North Benton, was recently selected to participate in the 2014 Miss Teen Youngstown/Cleveland/Akron pageant competition on April 13. Anna will be competing, for her share of thousands of dollars in prizes and specialty gifts that will be distributed to contestants. She will be competing in the Miss Teen division, one of four divisions featuring young ladies ages 7 and 19 competing in modeling routines, which include casual wear and formal wear. Most important, Anna will display her personality and interviewing skills while interviewing with this year’s Youngstown/Cleveland/Akron judging panel. The winner will represent Youngstown/Cleveland/Akron and the surrounding communities at the national competition in Orlando, Fla. Over $30,000 in prizes and awards will be presented at the national competition while each winner enjoys this expense-paid trip of five nights and six days in Orlando, Florida. EAST?PALESTINE- Kiaya Nicole Lindsay and Alexcia Hughes will compete in the Miss Teen Pageant on April 13 in Cleveland.
Kiaya, 10, daughter of Amanda Noel of East Palestine and the late Matthew Noel, is a fifth grader at East Palestine Middle School. This is her first pageant. She’s hoping to gain more confidence and make new friends.
Alexcia, 12, is the daughter of Desary Kerr of East Palestine and Joshua Hughes. She is in the sixth grade at East Palestine Middle School and enjoys playing video games. Alexcia is dedicating this pageant in memory of her uncle, Charlie Hughes, who passed away earlier this year.
