Cousins selected to perform in Skate Dance Dream show
Cousins Rylee Hutton, 8, Maya Hoffman, 10, and Kelly Hutton, 11, of Salem recently auditioned and were selected to each perform solos during the 2014 Skate Dance Dream Show in Mentor.
The girls will perform Saturday. The show will begin at 7 p.m. in the Mentor Civic Ice Arena.
Kelly and Rylee have been chosen to perform a figure skating solo. Maya was chosen to perform a dance solo.
Kelly was also selected to perform with ice dancer Emily Samuelson, the 2009 U.S. silver medalist and 2010 Olympian at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada.
Skate Dance Dream is an innovative show experience combining figure skating and dance, teaming together stars with the next generation of talent.
“We are very excited to have Kelly, Rylee and Maya perform in Skate Dance Dream,” said Parker Pennington, Skate Dance Dream executive producer and U.S. figure skating champion at four levels.
“They are great young skaters, dancers and performers. And look forward to showcasing them alongside the stars in the show spotlights. The crowd will love them. It’s not everyday that you get to see this caliber of talent combined with the future stars of tomorrow. It’s a show that will leave all of us feeling young and inspired.”
The show will feature a star cast including 2012 U.S. figure skating national junior silver medalist Ashley Cain; 2010 Olympian and two-time U.S. national ice dancing medalist Emily Samuelson; top four finalist from Fox’s season 8 show “So You Think You Can Dance” Tadd Gadduang; season 10, Alexis Juliano; and, from “So You Think You Can Dance” season four, top finalist Gev Mayoukin.
Kelly is a fifth-grader at Salem Southeast School. Rylee is a second-grader at Salem Buckeye Elementary School. Kelly and Rylee are the daughters of Rob and Deri Hutton of Salem.
Maya is the daughter of Jeff and Dee Hoffman of Salem.
