West Branch MS students participate in Junior Envirothon

West Branch Middle School participated in the Mahoning County Soil and Water Conservation District’s Junior Envirothon on April 10 at the Mill Creek MetroParks Farm in Canfield. Two eighth-grade teams participated in this hands-on educational event. Students learned about five areas of environmental science: forestry, soils, wildlife, aquatics and environmental issues (composting). Martig Farms donated the team shirts, “Birds Luv’ Em.” West Branch Middle School has an environmental club that meets monthly giving students a chance to learn about the wildlife, plants, and recycling in this area.
