Auburn retirement home hosts safety fair

The staff at Auburn Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation in Damascus recently held an informative and fun safety fair. Each day of the week had events planned by a different department, training those attending in safe procedures to use at work as well as in daily life. The maintenance department taught the importance of electrical safety tips. The nursing department spoke of slips, trips and falls, and the need for everyone to show caution near dangerous spills. The therapy staff focused on lifting and bending. The dietary department trained all on fire safety. Games of skill were offered and skills were tested. Foods including homemade ice cream, fudge, corn dogs and fresh cut fries were provided for everyone from the activity department. Gift bags filled with summer safety goodies were given to each participant.
