Salem library, parks department team up for photography class
SALEM – On June 30, Salem Public Library and Salem Parks Department will offer a nature photography class as a part of this year’s “Go Wild in the Parks” programming. The program begins at 6:30 p.m. in pavilion two at Centennial Park.
Rich Stelts, owner of Swan Lake Photography will teach, demonstrate and explain basic techniques required and equipment needed to take nature photos. Program participants will then be invited to take nature photos at any of the six locations of Salem parks and enter their favorite photos in a contest on July 7 at 6:30 p.m. at pavilion two at Centennial Park. The contest is open to any local amateur and beginner photographer and is free of cost. Winning photos will be selected by a panel of judges and receive recognition in the Salem News. Prizes will be awarded the evening of July 7.
Registration for the class is required through Salem Public Library’s website at salem.lib.oh.us or 330-332-0042. For more program information and maps of the parks contact Shane Franks at the Salem Memorial Building at 330-332-5512.
