Soul to Sole 5K Fun Run will benefit church, food pantry
LISBON – The First United Methodist Church will hold the first-ever Soul to Sole 5K Fun Run (with color) on July 12 at the Columbiana County Fairgrounds. The race begins at 5 p.m.
At various points along the race course, runners will be sprayed with a non-toxic paint. The idea is to have as many colors as possible on your T-shirt when the race is over.
There will be music and food concessions after the race. Josh Boggs of Second Sole in Boardman will be on hand to time the race and finalists medals will be awarded to anyone completing the race.
The non-refundable fee is $30 for participants age 13 and older. If participating in a group of four or more the entry fee will be $25 per runner.
For those registering on the day of the race the fee will be $40 per runner and in groups of four or more the entry fee will increase to $35 per runner.
For children 12 and under there will be a short course with a fee of $10 with each completed application and parental approval.
After the race has concluded, there will be a concert featuring Zack Paxson whose musical tribute to Ohio was recently recognized by the General Assembly and which may be adopted as the state of Ohio’s anthem.
