Calla Community Church’s annual lawn festival is Saturday

Calla Community Church will hold its annual lawn festival Saturday. The church is located at 6482 W. Calla Road, Canfield – between state Route 46 and Lisbon Road, near the Haus Cider Mill. Serving will begin at 4:30 p.m. There will be a variety of sandwiches, salads, homemade cakes and pies. A country store will be featuring homemade baked goods, handmade craft items and woven rag rugs. There will be a raffle for a hand-pieced quilted quilt, a Grandmother’s Flower Garden, made by several church members. Second prize is a handmade crocheted afghan made by Donna Mercer. Tickets are available for purchase at the festival for $1 each or six for $5. The winner does not need to be present. Calla Community Church is celebrating its 150th anniversary. Many updates have been recently made to the church. New shrubbery has been done around the front of the church. New carpeting and new lighting have been done inside. More changes are under way. Activities will be held throughout the year, including the rededication of the church. Check the website at for upcoming events. The festival will be held rain or shine.
