Care-A-Vanners teamed with Habitat for Humanity in building home in Salem
SALEM – The Care-A-Vanners worked with Habitat for Humanity from July 13-26.
This group consists of 10 individuals who spend their time traveling across the country in recreational vehicles and donating their time to nonprofit organizations. This was their fourth time visiting Salem to work on a Habitat home.
During their visit they were able transform a foundation at 944 E. Third St. into a home with windows, a roof and siding. Volunteers are welcome to continue work on this house and a second house on West Pershing.
Local businesses and individuals who donated lunches to the volunteers included: Alfredo’s Pizzeria, Annabell’s Restaurant, Arby’s, DeRienzo’s, Gezo’s Pizza, Giant Eagle, Mike’s Penn Avenue Grille, Pizza Hut, Salem Regional Medical Center, Subway and First Christian Church.
