Terri Roberts to speak at church
NEW SPRINGFIELD – Terri Roberts will speak at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 10 at the New Springfield Church of God, 3649 E. Garfield Rod. She is also scheduled to speak at 6 p.m. that day at New Covenant Worship Center, 1900 Canfield Road, Youngstown.
Roberts is member of Living Faith Church of God. She has survived serious illness and adheres to an admirably rigorous diet. Hers was a relatively quiet life until seven years ago, when an unthinkable tragedy in her community, a tragedy for which one of her beloved sons was responsible., propelled her into the public’s eye
Clothing donations needed for Overflow
NEW WATERFORD Donations of good, used children’s clothing are still being accepted as Abundant Life Fellowship prepares for its sixth year of August Overflow, a one-day community outreach event at noon Aug. 2.
Clean, children’s clothing may be taken to the church at 46469 state Route 46 from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday or until 3 p.m. Sunday.
School supplies for students in Crestview, Columbiana, Leetonia, East Palestine, Lisbon, Beaver Local and Heartland Christian School, home-schooled students, will be provided. To receive school supplies, recipients must bring a report card from the previous school year and/or a driver’s license or document showing proof of residency.
Other services provided include free haircuts; free grill food and side dishes; fresh produce from Second Harvest Food Bank; a variety of games and bounce-arounds; and a classic car show that starts at 3 p.m. The American Red Cross will conduct a blood drive during the event and prayer provided for anybody needing ministry for specific needs. All services are free.
After cleanup, a brief worship service begins at 6:30 p.m. in the sanctuary.

AUSTINTOWN – Men of Faith is hosting a celebration Sunday concert at 6 p.m. Sunday at Highway Tabernacle, 3000 S. Raccoon Road. Breakfast buffet planned at North Lima Mennonite

‘Wilderness Escape’ Bible school set at Salem First Friends
SALEM – “Wilderness Escape” is the theme of the preschool-kindergarten vacation Bible school at Salem First Friends Church. All children ages 4 through kindergarten completion are invited from 6 to 8 p.m. July 28-31. The free program includes Bible stories, games, crafts, and snacks.

Leetonia Mennonite Church to offer music, meals July 17
LEETONIA – “How Can We Keep from Singing … And Eating?” will be held July 17 at Leetonia Mennonite Church, 764 Columbia St. Catered or potluck meals from local foods are offered at 5 p.m. with a free “singing concert” at 7 p.m. by four young acoustic musicians.
Potluck participants will bring a salad or dessert using local food items to complement hot sandwiches (provided, from pasture-raised chickens). Chef Adam Lee of Youngstown is preparing farmer’s salad, roasted pork sandwich and grilled vegetables for the catered meal at $14 per plate. Alliance church plans clothing giveaway in all sizes Aug. 2
ALLIANCE – The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints Alliance Chapel will host its third annual clothing giveaway from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Alliance Chapel, 2260 Hedgewood Ave. Registration is not needed and all are welcome.
Tables will be set up in the church gym with clothing for babies to adult sizes in clean and good condition. They also have shoes and a limited amount of bedding and some miscellaneous items. To donate clothing or shoes call Karen Freeman at 330-654-9080.
