County engineer honored by Ohio group

LISBON – Columbiana County Engineer Bert Dawson, P.E., P.S., was recently awarded the Meritorious Service Award by the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers (OSPE).

Dawson earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from Youngstown State University and a master’s degree from Carnegie Mellon University. He has served as Columbiana County engineer since 1969 and the county sanitary engineer since 1990. He also serves on the State Board of Registration for Professional Engineers and Surveyors.

He is a registered professional engineer in Ohio, West Virginia and Pennsylvania, as well as a registered professional surveyor in Ohio. Dawson was named Urban County Engineer by the National Association of County Engineers in 2007.
