West Branch presents vocal recital today

ALLIANCE – The West Branch Choral Department will hold a vocal recital at 2 p.m. today at Alliance First Friends Church featuring students who have been studying voice throughout the summer.

More than 50 students participated in the weekly lesson program organized by choral director John Zamarelli. Students in the program range from grades 5 to 12 and had weekly lessons with Zamarelli voice specialist and instructor William Ambert.

The 24 soloists will be accompanied by Zamarelli and Joe McKim. All periods of classical vocal literature will be represented during the afternoon and some selections will be performed in German, French and Italian.

The recital is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served after the program.
