Blood drawing set at SRMC March 15

SALEM–According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Unfortunately, extreme weather and seasonal illnesses often reduce donor turnout at blood drives during the winter months, making it difficult to collect enough blood to meet patient needs.

To help ensure a sufficient blood supply is available locally, Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) will host an American Red Cross blood drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 15 in the Tower Conference Room, located on the hospital’s ground floor concourse.

Individuals who have not given blood since Jan. 18 are eligible to donate.

Appointments are not necessary, but can be made by calling 330-332-7227.
