COLUMBIANA–Over 200 cyclists from northeast Ohio and western Pennsylvania gathered in Columbiana April 23 for the annual “SICCO” ride sponsored by the Out-Spokin’ Wheelmen Cycling Club of Youngstown.

Participants started from the Firestone PArk shelter house and could chose a 35-mile Greenway Bike Path ride or add an additional 28 miles that followed several of the highways in Columbiana County for a total 63-mile journey.

A midway snack stop was set up at the historic train station in Lisbon and riders received a pizza lunch when they returned to Firestone Park.

“SICCO” stands for Spring in Columbiana County and was originally staged in March, but because of the area’s often bitter cold early spring weather, the club moved the ride to April several years ago.

Information about the club and its activities is available online at www.outspokinwheelmen.com.
