SALEM–With the addition of the Dale Shaffer Research Library to the Salem Historical Society campus, the transportation and industry of Salem’s history has been greatly expanded. The major industries of Salem are featured and have greatly expanded the area for display at this building. Featured among the display is Mullins Manufacturing, Deming Pump, BuTech, Theiss Aviation, Buckeye Engine, Electric Furnace, Salem Tool, Eljer and Silver Manufacturing,

The display will now showcase the newest addition to the Museum of Transportation and Industry– an American Standard cast iron, enameled bathtub display along with the history of American Standard. The new addition adds yet another piece to the industrial history of Salem.

The museum is now open for tours from 1 to 4 p.m. Sundays and at 6 p.m. Tuesdays.
