EAST LIVERPOOL–The Columbiana County Retired Teachers Association (CCRTA) Monday introduced the launch of its new website, https://sites.google.com/view/columbiana-county-rta.

East Liverpool High School students in Ms. Daugherty’s Web Design II-III class were approached to design a website for the CCRTA facilitated by the association’s secretary, Jerry Barnes. Students decided to take on the challenge to produce a professional website to provide access to resources and information for retired teachers within the county and beyond.

Students chose to utilize Google Apps for the association in order to incorporate the convenience of all apps working together for members to collaborate more efficiently and effectively share with a wider audience. Students implemented a responsive layout design through Google sites that will automatically adjust for user consistency across any screen device, whether mobile, desktop or netbook.

The website will provide correspondences and updates from the Ohio Retired Teachers and State Teachers Retired System. These updates include details regarding legislature action/decision making affecting policies on pensions and health funding. In addition, the website would effectively keep active and retires connected to current educational goals.

With this operational website, the Columbiana County Retired Teachers Board of Directors can encourage membership that will make a direct impact on high school graduating scholarships and the community.
