SALEM — A fun afternoon for the family is planned during the “Kids Back to School Jamboree” from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Solid Rock Community Church, 1780 Franklin Ave. (state Route 344). In addition to a bounce house, there will be music, Bible stories, games, crafts, food and hourly drawings for prizes. Everything is provided, free of charge. No registration is necessary. DAMASCUS — The monthly community breakfast will be served from 7 to 11 a.m. today at Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road. The all-you-can-eat, made to order meal includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Suggested donations are $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. Breakfast proceeds will benefit the 2018 summer mission trip of the Damascus church and the Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Homeworth.

SALEM — The Banquet in Salem will be sponsored by an anonymous donor from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. The menu offers chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, mixed vegetables, mixed fruit, fresh vegetables and fruits, and ice cream sundaes. Additional sponsors are needed. SALEM — Allegheny Wesleyan College is offering a Bible class, “Prison Epistles,” on Mondays from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 28-Dec. 11. The class may be audited or taken for credit. For information call the registrar’s office at 330-337-6403 Ext. 172.

NORTH LIMA — An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be available from 7 to 10 a.m. Aug. 26 at the North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive. Items on the buffet will include eggs, pancakes, french toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade rolls, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice, etc. Donations will be accepted.
