Final Beautification Committee recognition of the year

The Business of the Month recognition was awarded to the Texas 10 Minute Oil and Lube Shop located on the east end of Salem at 2354 E. State St. in front of the Salem Plaza. On both sides of the building, snapdragons and zinnia flowers give the business a beautiful appearance. The colorful, well-maintained flower beds lend a sense of pride to the business. The last residential honor of the year was recently awarded by the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce’s Beautification Committee and given to Dave and Lois Bricker of 1293 Fairview Ave. Their yard was chosen for the “Blue Ribbon Digs” recognition because of the outstanding landscaping that is featured in their front yard. As well, the Brickers have beautiful flower boxes that adorn the front of their house and potted plants that add to the overall attractiveness of their home.
