Park Avenue Marketplace opens in Columbiana

The Columbiana Area Chamber of Commerce held a red-ribbon cutting ceremony Tuesday at Park Avenue Marketplace, 14 E. Park Ave. Late in 2016, with the loss of the well-known “Vivian’s” and the sale of another antique location an absence was sorely apparent in the shopping district of Columbiana. Two Columbiana couples, Larry and Vicki Deidrick and Dave and Ginny Perkins, who have long been involved in the community, identified the need. Though retirement was beginning to look appealing, both couples set those plans on the back burner and chose to reclaim a large, vacant retail location. With a vision to create a shopping destination, Park Avenue Marketplace will host artisans, antiques, vintage finds, furniture, primitives, jewelry, repurposed items, etc. The store is open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1-5 p.m. Sunday. A grand opening from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Oct. 13-14 offers food samples, art raffle, jewelry demonstration, artist signings, sip n’ paint classes and antique appraisals.
