SALEM — The Salem St. Paul Church confirmation class will serve the Banquet in Salem meal from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Salem Memorial Building. The menu will include wedding soup, roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, vegetable medley, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and assorted desserts.

DAMASCUS — The Damascus United Methodist Church will host a community breakfast from 7-10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 20. The breakfast features all-you-can-eat, made to order, pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Suggested donation is adults: $5 and children under 10: $3. The breakfast held at the Damascus church, located at 300 Valley Road in Damascus. Breakfast proceeds will benefit the 2018 Dominican Republic Mission Trip.

DAMASCUS — A “Join Girl Scouts for a Troop Formation Night! will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29 at the Damascus Friends Church, 300 Valley Road. Girls and adult leaders are invited to learn more about the new troops forming in Damascus and Alliance area. SALEM — Salem First Friends Church on Jennings Avenue will host a fly-by carryout dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. (or until sold out) Thursday, Jan. 18. The menu includes glazed ham loaf, cheesy potatoes, seasoned green beans, roll and homemade cake. Cost is $8. Reservations are recommended by calling the church office at 330-332-0001. The church cookbook featuring 500 recipes will also be available for $12.

LEETONIA –St. Patrick Church will host its third annual chicken parmesan dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 20 in the social hall to benefit the food pantry. The seventh- and eighth-grade CCD classes will host the event. Cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 10 years and younger. The menu will include chicken parmesan, zitti, vegetables, salad, rolls and butter, punch and dessert.Tickets will be available at the door, but community members are encouraged to make reservations by calling 260-458-7147. Take-outs will also be available calling the same number; dinners can be picked up in the alley by the kitchen door.

SALEM — Calla Community Church, 6482 W. Calla Road, between routes 62 and 46, will be holding its annual soup sale on Friday, Jan. 19. The soups available will be wedding soup and stuffed pepper soup. Cost is $6 a quart. There will also be fresh baked bread for $2 a loaf. For pre-orders, call Chris at 330-501-1597. Pick-up will start at 4 p.m. until sold out.
