Washingtonville VFW Aux. plans car show
WASHINGTONVILLE– The Washingtonville VFW Post 5532 Auxiliary will host its annual Car and Bike Show, sponsored by Tri State Antique Auto, from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday at the post home, 575 S. County Road.
The free event will include a DJ, with hot dogs, pop, water and chips available for a donation. Visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food item which will be donated with the food proceeds to the Leetonia Food Bank.
Pancake breakfast to benefit splash pad
LEETONIA– A pancake breakfast to benefit a village splash pad is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 8 at the Leetonia American Legion. The menu will include pancakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, coffee and juice. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children under 12 and free for children under 2.
Damascus Ruritans to host flag retirement
DAMASCUS — The Damascus Ruritan Club will host a flag retirement ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Damascus Community Center Park on the Damascus -Georgetown Road.
Unserviceable flags may be dropped off at the Damascus Post Office or Damascus Hardware for disposal. The public is invited to attend, bring their unserviceable flags and observe the ceremony. The North Georgetown Boy Scouts will assist with the ceremony. New American made flags may be purchased from the Ruritan Club at the ceremony.
Park program to be held at Eagleton Glen
SALEM — Nature lovers of all ages are invited to search for creek critters during the “Go Wild in the Park” event beginning at 6:30 p.m. June 18 at the Eagleton Glen Recreation Area and Teegarden Covered Bridge. The program will be presented by Jason Reynolds and Joshua Emanuelson of Columbiana County Soil and Water Conservation District.
This free program is presented by Salem Public Library and the Salem Parks and Recreation Department. Registration is requested at salem.lib.oh.us, 330-332-0042 or Shane Franks at the Memorial Building at 330-332-5512.
Dental van visit to Lepper Library canceled
LISBON — The Mercy Health Dental Van has canceled its visit on June 20 to the Lepper Library. The van will visit on Aug. 15. For more information call 330-424-3117.

SALEM — Salem Public Library retirees will hold their monthly luncheon at 1 p.m. June 21 at Ricky’s English Pub, 151 E. State St.
Crandall to mark ‘Longest Day’
SEBRING — On “The Longest Day,” (June 21), people across the world will participate in activities that raise funds and awareness that support Alzheimer’s research and those affected by the disease.
Crandall Medical Center will host its second annual balloon launch to honor loved ones with Alzheimer’s Disease, those who have passed, caregivers, and the friends and families who share in the battle.
The balloon launch will be located on the patio of Crandall Medical Center’s first floor D Hall Lounge. Balloons can be purchased for $2 and all proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. Entertainment, cookies and beverages will be provided. All balloons and strings are biodegradable and environmentally safe.
Crossroads Ministries to host vendors
SALEM — Crossroads Ministries at 1909 N. Ellsworth Ave. will host a Vendor Show/Quarter Auction at 6:30 p.m. June 22. Over 60 items will be auctioned valued from $10 to over $100. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Refreshments will be available for purchase.
Meals on Wheels to hold garage sale
COLUMBIANA — Meals on Wheels will host its second annual garage sale from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 29 and 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 30 at Columbiana Floral, 735 Springfield Road. All proceeds will benefit the Meals on Wheels program. For more information call 330-482-0366.

SALEM — The Salem Saxon Club will host its annual dance on July 4 in its air-conditioned club building at 1980 state Route 9. The public is invited from 2 to 6 p.m. Admission is $8 per person.
