Andy Schuller to perform Wednesday

Andy Schuller will be the guest artist for the Salem Quaker City Band at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Orashan Memorial Civic Center at Waterworth Memorial Park. This concert is a continuation of the Salem Summer Concert Series and the final concert for the Quaker City Band for 2018. Schuller, a 1976 Salem High School graduate and a 1981 Youngstown State University graduate, is well known in this area. He retired in 2016 after serving 30 years as trumpet player and soloist in “The Presidents Own” United States Marine Band. The program “A Touch of Trumpet” will feature Schuller in two selections that were arranged for him while serving in the Marines. Admission is free. Tickets will be sold for a 50/50 drawing and prizes donated by local businesses. Attendees are reminded to bring lawn chairs. A food vendor will be available to purchase food and soft drinks.
