Salem 1953 to meet for lunch at Annabell’s

SALEM — The Salem High School Class of 1953 plans to meet for lunch at noon Saturday at Annabell’s restaurant.

Tent sale set at Habitat ReStore Saturday

SALEM — A tent sale featuring discounts and new donations will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Habitat for Humanity’s ReStore at 1965 N. Ellsworth Ave. Food trucks will be onsite.

Community breakfast offered in North Benton

NORTH BENTON — An all-you-can-eat community breakfast will be served Saturday at the North Benton Presbyterian Church. The public is welcome from 7:30 to 11 a.m. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for ages 6 to 12. Carryouts will be available.

“Fly-by chicken and noodle dinner” offered

DAMASCUS — A “fly-by chicken and noodle dinner” is available beginning at 4 p.m. Saturday at the Damascus United Methodist Church, 300 Valley Road. In addition to chicken and noodles, the meal includes homemade mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. Cost is $7. This dinner is carryout only and delivered right to your car window when you arrive at the kitchen door at the church. All proceeds from this dinner will go to the various needs of the children in orphanages that are visited by the church’s Ukrainian Volunteers in Mission Team. This summer, the team was able to help with various needs such as school supplies, socks, underwear, winter boots, and even replacing broken heating systems and showers.

Fairview School reunion set Sunday at Davidson’s

SALEM — The Fairview School reunion will be held Sunday at Davidson’s restaurant. Lunch will be served at 1 p.m.

Senior Moments Cafe luncheon planned Sept. 12

WINONA — The first Senior Moments Cafe luncheon of the 2018-19 school year starts Sept. 12. Anyone age 55 and older is invited from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the Family Life Center of the Winona Friends Church on Whinnery Road.

DAHS 1968 to informal get together Sept. 22

LISBON — The David Anderson High School Class of 1968 will host an informal get together at 5 p.m. Sept. 22 at Mark’s Landing. Reservations are due by Sept. 15. On Friday, the Blue Devils play at home; interested classmates are asked to contact Little.

“Wings of Love” photo exhibit opens

YOUNGSTOWN — The “Wings of Love” exhibit by local photographer Pamela Cohen is currently on display in the Weller Gallery at Fellows Riverside Gardens. The artist has selected works featuring portraits of large wading birds such as herons, egrets, roseate spoonbills and wood storks taken in their natural habitat throughout South Carolina and Florida. This free exhibit is being displayed through Oct. 3 during normal operating hours of 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays (closed Mondays). Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency Super Walk set

LISBON –The 27th annual Multiple Sclerosis Services Agency Super Walk begins at 10 a.m. Sept. 29, rain or shine, at the Greenway Trail in Lisbon. This year’s walk takes place at a new location, 232 S. Market St. The super walk will begin at the historic railway station and participants will walk by Beaver Creek. Registration begins at 9 a.m.

This is the local multiple sclerosis super walk, where 100 percent of the profits stays here to help serve those individuals living with Multiple Sclerosis in Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties. For more information call 330-533-6772.

Salem Farmers Market moves to Mason’s lot

SALEM — The Salem Farmers Market will be open from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the Mason’s parking lot located at 788 E. State Street in Salem. The market will be open rain or shine. In addition to fresh fruits and vegetables, a variety of homemade pies and desserts and other homemade items are available for purchase.
