SALEM — “Hearts on Fire” and Neighborhood Outreach Public Worship and Picnic

SALEM — The Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. The meal will be sponsored by Halverstadt Properties LLC. The menu offers sloppy joes, cheesy potatoes, baked beans, applesauce, fresh vegetables and fruits and sundaes. Additional sponsors are needed. LEETONIA — One of the missions of the Leetonia First United Methodist Church is the Blanket of Love Mission. A group of women from the church has met once a month for the past 11 years when they cut, sew, stitch and enjoy each other’s company. They have been making lap quilts, chemo scarves and shawls that have been delivered to hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters. Before they are taken to the different facilities, the items are blessed at the church. Anyone interested in joining the group is asked to call the church at 330-427-6856 and leave a message. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the church.

NORTH GEORGETOWN — Emmanuel Lutheran Church at 27485 Main St., North Georgetown, has a rich history and continues to be a warm and welcoming place for all. The public is welcome to attend for inspiration and fellowship each week. Services begin at 10:45 a.m. every Sunday.

SALEM — At 10 a.m. Sept. 4, Becky Cruz of Greenwood Chevrolet Austintown will deliver a 2018 Chevy Cruze that will be raffled off at the St. Paul Car Show from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 8 at St. Paul School, 925 E. State St. This car will be on site at the school until the winner is drawn at the car show. Cost is $10 in advance to register your car for the car show, and $15 on Sept. 8. All types of cool, classic cars are welcome to enter. The winner of the raffle will receive a two-year lease or $5,000 cash option. All proceeds from the event will benefit St. Paul School. Raffle tickets for the Chevy Cruze are $20 each and available at the school and Sandy and Beaver Insurance or Brian’s Barber Shop in Lisbon.
