LEETONIA — One of the missions of the Leetonia First United Methodist Church is the Blanket of Love Mission. A group of women from the church has met once a month for the past 11 years when they cut, sew, stitch and enjoy each other’s company. They have been making lap quilts, chemo scarves and shawls that have been delivered to hospitals, nursing homes and homeless shelters. Before they are taken to the different facilities, the items are blessed at the church. Anyone interested in joining the group is asked to call the church at 330-427-6856 and leave a message. The group meets the last Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. at the church.
