Swiss steak dinner offered Saturday in East Rochester

EAST ROCHESTER – The public is invited to the annual Swiss steak dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Saturday at the New Alexander Christian Church, 7665 Rochester Road. The meal includes salad, dessert and beverage. Cost is $11 for adults, $4 for children up to age 10 and free for under 5. Carryouts are available.

Baked potato fundraiser to aid

Meals on Wheels

COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Area Meals on Wheels is hosting a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 17 at Firestone Park pavilion four during Christmas in Columbiana. Cost is $8 for the luncheon which includes a baked potato with your choice of toppings, soup and salad. A drive-up carryout service is available by calling 330-482-0366.

Christmas Craft Show set at Salem

Slovak Club Dec. 1

SALEM — The Salem Slovak Club at 313 S. Ellsworth Ave. will host its annual Christmas Craft Show on Dec. 1. Blood screening offered at Columbiana Family Care Center

SALEM — On Nov. 17, those wishing to learn more about their health are invited to participate in a comprehensive blood screening provided by Salem Regional Medical Center’s Laboratory Services and the Columbiana Family Care Center. The screening event will be held at the Columbiana Family Care Center, which is located in the Firestone Farms Town Center at 116 Carriage Drive, Columbiana.

Comprehensive blood screenings can help to identify many health problems in their earliest stages, when they are most treatable, and may detect conditions such as high cholesterol, anemia, infections, diabetes and other disorders.

The cost of the comprehensive screening is $45. Participants may add a prostate specific antigen test to their comprehensive panel for an additional $12; or an HgA1c diabetes screen for an additional $28. A lipid panel only, which measures cholesterol levels and is included in the comprehensive screening, is also available for $12.

Remove decorations at Woodsdale

BUTLER TWP. — Butler Township trustees have announced that the fall clean-up at Woodsdale Cemetery is under way. Nov. 5 is the deadline to remove all flowers and decorations from graves at the cemetery.

Threshold Residential Services to hold garage sale

EAST PALESTINE — Threshold Residential Services will hold a three-day garage sale to benefit agency programs for the developmentally disabled. The public is invited from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Over 40 tables of useful items available for purchase including household, decor, Christmas, furniture, tools,and much more. The event will be held in the Bus Garage at 162 N. Walnut Street, East Palestine (behind the Huntington Bank).

Banquet in Salem to feature roast beef

SALEM — A memorial Banquet in Salem in honor of Frank and Anna Dustman will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. The meal will be sponsored by the Dustman family. The menu offers roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy, peas or corn, applesauce, fresh fruit and vegetables and ice cream.
