Banquet in Salem to feature turkey

Winter stories, crafts featured at Columbiana Library

“The Spitfire Grill” auditions set at Crown House

COLUMBIANA — Crown Theater Productions will hold auditions for “The Spitfire Grill” from 7 to 9 p.m. Jan. 21 and 22 at the Crown House located directly behind Main Street Theater. Call backs are Jan. 24. Show dates are April 5, 6, 7, 12, 13 and 14. The director will consider alternate audition dates for anyone with a significant conflict, provided it is arranged in advance. The show will be directed by Mark Frost with Gary Kekel as musical director. Applicants should come with a prepared song, with sheet music or accompaniment CD, or sing a simple tune like “Happy Birthday” to demonstrate range and the ability to match a pitch. The show has a cast of three men and four women.

Marine mammals program planned at library

SALEM — Pacific Marine Mammal Center in Laguna Beach, Calif. will provide an interactive video conference program at 6:30 p.m. Jan. 24 in the Quaker Room at the Salem Public Library. Attendees will learn what makes marine mammals unique, the classification and habitat of the California sea lion, their diet and life cycle and the threats to their survival. Toddlertime, Storytime scheduled in Columbiana

COLUMBIANA — The Columbiana Public Library is now registering for the winter sessions of Toddlertime and Storytime. Toddlertime is a lapsit program and will be held from 10 to 10:30 or 11 to 11:30 a.m. Thursdays for ages 18-36 months and their caregivers. Storytime will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesdays or 1 to 1:45 p.m. Thursdays for ages 3 to 5.

Sessions run Feb. 6 through April 25 and include age appropriate stories, finger plays, crafts, all free of charge. Pre-registration is required at the library or 330-482-5509.
