–NORTH BENTON — The public is invited to an all-you-can-eat breakfast from 7:30 to 11 a.m. today at the North Benton Presbyterian Church. Cost is $6.50 for adults and $3.50 for ages 6 to 12. Carryouts are available.

–NORTH LIMA — An all-you-can-eat chili dinner will be served from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Good Hope Lutheran Church, 12030 Market St. Several varieties of chili will be available with cornbread. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 7 to 12. Carryouts are available. Proceeds will benefit Ohio Valley Adult and Teen Challenge.

–DAMASCUS — A “fly by chicken and noodle dinner” will be sold beginning at 4 p.m. today at the Damascus United Methodist Church. The meal includes chicken and noodles, mashed potatoes, green beans and dessert. Cost is $7, carryout only. All proceeds from this dinner will go to the various needs of the children in orphanages that are visited by the church’s Ukrainian Volunteers in Mission Team. This summer, the team was able to help with various needs such as school supplies, socks, underwear, winter boots, and even replacing broken heating systems and showers.

–GOSHEN TOWNSHIP — East Goshen Friends Church will host the music ministry team from Malone University during the morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The music team will lead an acoustic-style worship service with testimonies from the team members.

–DAMASCUS — Damascus United Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church will host its monthly community breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 19 at the Damascus church at 300 Valley Road. The all-you-can-eat meal offers made to order pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The breakfast proceeds will benefit the upcoming 2019 summer mission trip to Cluster 13 Ministries in Camden, N.Y.

–SALEM — Church Women United will meet at 12:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the First Friends Church, 1028 Jennings Ave. This month’s speaker is Pastor Peter Fowler. The public is invited to attend.

–LISBON — The spaghetti dinner benefit and Chinese auction for Melody Cox DeWitt will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist Church, 114 E. Washington St. The meal includes spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Carryouts are available.

–SALEM — The Banquet in Salem will be served from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the Memorial Building, 785 E. State St. Next week’s sponsor is Boneshakers and the West Branch boys basketball team.

The menu offers turkey, gravy, augratin potatoes, green beans, fresh fruit and vegetables and cookies.

–YOUNGTOWN — Adults seeking to learn more or deepen their understanding of topics in faith and Catholic Church practice can take advantage of online and onsite opportunities outlined in a new brochure released by the Office of Religious Education of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown. Courses such as “A Survey of Catholic Spiritualities,” “Your Life with the Saints,” and “Jesus, The Compassionate Savior,” are among offerings online, and “Catholic Belief and Tradition,” and “Elementary Catechesis” are offered at diocesan parishes.

In addition to courses, the brochure also lists lectures, activities, and other learning events around the diocese aimed at shaping the mind and touching the heart of faith.
