Western Reserve PTO Auction Fundraiser set

BERLIN CENTER– The Western Reserve PTO will hold its sixth Annual Auction Fundraiser at 6 p.m. April 5 in the Western Reserve Cafetorium, 13850 Akron Canfield Road. Doors open at 5 p.m. Admission is free. A catered dinner from A La Cart is available for $8; reservations forms are available in the Western Reserve Elementary office and the March issue of the Roundup.

Some of the items up for bid are electric guitar, stand and amp; fully loaded jukebox; two American Girl dolls; overnight stay in Canton and two Pro Football Hall of Fame tickets; two tickets to Dollywood; $500 toward Michelin tires; table and four chairs set; two all-day passes to King’s Island; two day, one night getaway package for Mountaineer; plus vouchers and tickets to sporting and entertainment events, themed baskets of all kinds and thousand of dollars in gift cards.

Don’t get Amazon? Salem Library offers class

SALEM–Learn what “Amazon” is and how it works at the “Get Tech Smart” program at 6:30 p.m. April 4 in the Salem Public Library’s Quaker Room. Technology instructor, Kathy Bennett, will teach attendees how to create an account, search for items on the Amazon website, do one click ordering and use a wish list. Also to be covered in class are Amazon’s Prime features and how to track orders.

Salem Public Library is located at 821 E. State St. The class is provided through a Guiding Ohio Online grant made by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the State Library of Ohio.

Active shooter program offered at library

SALEM– Salem Public Library will host a special after-hours program at 6 p.m. April 12 that deals with the issue of an active shooter attack and how to improve chances of surviving. Those attending will learn tactics that can be used to help them and others survive an active shooter attack from presenter Salem Police Department Detective Brad Davis. The subject matter in this program is designed for adults. The program is open to the public and free of cost to attend.
