CCCTC student excels in speaking

East Palestine junior, Carly Meckler, shown here, a full day student in the Landscape and Environmental Design program and member of the school’s chapter of FFA at the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center (CCCTC) has earned numerous honors for her ability in speaking during the FFA Advanced Creed Speaking contests held recently. She began by winning the subdistrict contest Feb. 2 at Norwayne High School in Creston, which guaranteed her the opportunity to compete at the district level. At the district competition, also held at Nowayne High School on Feb. 13, she took top honors securing a first place win and a trip to the state competition in Advanced Creed Speaking. The state competition was held at Marysville High School on March 1 where Carly took seventh place. (Submitted photo)
