Afternoon R-Weigh recognizes weekly winners

SALEM — The R-Weigh afternoon group met April 15 (Income tax day) at 1:45 p.m. at the First Friends Church on Jennings Avenue.

Jo Anne Bogdan led the meeting, starting the group in the R-Weigh prayer. Evelyn Pete selected song #3, “Easter Parade,” all joined in and sang. Under anything to share, Sue Carver and Sandy McGarr decided to surprise the group with a quiz – there was a glass jar filled with Easter colored Hershey Kisses. There was a paper with each members name, they wrote the number of pieces of candy they thought was in the jar without going over the number of pieces and without having the same number that someone else had. Carver’s daughter, Jill, took the bags of candy and put them in the jar, sealed it and folded a paper so no one could see the number on it. The winner of the jar of candy and an Easter bag with homemade dish scrubbies, potholders, dishcloths along with an Easter Dish towel was Sylvia Eller. Sandy McGarr read the minutes from last meeting and Sylvia Eller, the treasurer, reported no one paid this week.

Calorie chart winners were Evelyn Pete for goals, Ann Foust and Sylvia Eller. There was no winner for the can-do drawing so next week it will be worth $4. The goal winners were Jo Anne Bogdan and Sylvia Eller.

There were 11 regular members weighed in for 7.5 pounds loss and five goalies. Good loser was Ellene Dole, runner up was Anna Kurtz and honorable mention was awarded to Carmella Balevre, Rhonda Brown and Evelyn Pete.

Easter egg monetary winners were Anna Kurtz, Sue Carver, Ann Foust, Rhonda Brown, Francie Tuel, Carmella Balevre, Evelyn Pete, Jo Anne Bogdan and Sylvia Eller.
