Salem hospital blood drive set for July 10

SALEM — According to the American Red Cross, every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood. Collecting enough blood to meet this constant demand is especially challenging during the summer months, as vacations and busy schedules contribute to a seasonal decline in donors.

To help ensure a sufficient blood supply is available locally, Salem Regional Medical Center (SRMC) is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive on July 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The drive will be held in SRMC’s Tower Conference Room, located on the hospital’s ground floor concourse, and those who have not given blood since May 15 are eligible to donate.

Appointments are not necessary, but can be made by calling 330-332-7227 or online at www.redcrossblood.org.
