DAMASCUS–Damascus United Methodist Church and Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church will hold their monthly community breakfast from 7 to 10:30 a.m. today at the Damascus church, 300 Valley Road. The breakfast features all-you-can-eat, made-to-order pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, toast, juice and coffee. Suggested donation is $5 for adults and $3 for children under 10. The breakfast proceeds will benefit the upcoming 2019 Summer Mission Trip to Cluster 13 Ministries in Camden, N.Y.

Due to continually rising costs our Monthly Breakfast will be moving the suggested donation to $6 for adults and $4 for children under 10 beginning with the July 20 breakfast.

SALEM– Columbiana Presbyterian Church will sponsor the Banquet in Salem from 5 to 7 p.m. June 17 at the Memorial Building. The menu will include meatloaf, mashed potatoes and gravy, corn, applesauce, fresh vegetables, fresh fruit and ice cream sundaes. NORTH LIMA–The North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonited Drive, will host a breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. June 29. The all-you-can-eat buffet will include eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade pastries, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice and other beverages for a donation. KNOX TOWNSHIP — Knox Township 2019 Vacation Bible School will be held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. June 25 through 27 at the Reading Church of the Brethren, 25418 Georgetown Road. A light supper will be served daily at 5:30 p.m. for children entering kindergarten through completion of fifth grade. Early registration will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 8 in the lobby of the church to answer any questions, provide a tour of the facility and make known any special needs or dietary restrictions of the child. The five churches which sponsor the VBS annually are Bethel United Church of Christ, Emmanuel Lutheran Church of North Georgetown, First Brethren Church of North Georgetown, Middle Sandy Evangelical Presbyterian Church and Reading Church of the Brethren. Bible stories, crafts, music, sports and fun are included. Children should wear appropriate clothing and tennis shoes. For information call Agnes at 330-525-7668.

SALEM — The Salvation Army has openings for both boys and girls, ages 6 to 12 years old to attend Camp NEOSA from June 26 to July 1. The camp is located in Carroll County, in the Atwood Lake area on Leesville Lake, and is free to lower income families. All children going to camp must have a current physical. Children with diabetes are not permitted to attend. Children with asthma may attend if an asthma medical review and medical release is completed. The camp’s purpose is to serve the physical, social and spiritual needs of campers. The camp provides an opportunity for each camper to contribute to and benefit from a group living experience. Camp NEOSA is a unique setting operated by the Salvation Army. It consists of a 2,000-acre peninsula on the 1,000-acre Leesville Lake. The camp’s facilities include a large lake for swimming and boating, zip line, rope concourse, pioneer village, hiking trails, beach volleyball, basketball courts, soccer fields, crafts, fellowship hall, campfire circle and chapel in the trees. All activities are well chaperoned. Counselors from other countries will also be at the camp. Applications are available by appointment only. To schedule an appointment call 330-938-2590.
