July events planned at Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center has announced its July events.

Programs are offered free of charge, but donations are always appreciated. Visit beavercreekwildlife.org or follow their Facebook page.

— In honor of the 50th anniversary of the U.S. astronauts landing on the moon, naturalist Richelle will present a program on observing the nocturnal creatures of Beaver Creek while viewing the nearly full moon from 9 to 10 p.m. July 13. Meet at the RC flying fields across from the horse camp on Sprucevale Road. Bring a comfortable chair, insect repellent and wear appropriate clothing.

— Local Taxidermist Dale Wilhelm will be at the Wildlife Education Center classroom all afternoon demonstrating how he does taxidermy on a deer head from 1 to 5 p.m. July 20. He will have supplies on hand to show the entire process and will be working on completing a mount. Visitors will be able to observe the process and ask questions.

— Children and their adults can join Carolyn and other volunteers at the Wildlife Education Center to make a notecard or book mark using pressed dried flowers from 1:30 to 4 p.m. July 27. This activity will take about 30 minutes to complete.
