‘Pre-Civil War Women of Columbiana County’ topic at meeting

SALEM — The Salem Historical Society will meet at 7 p.m. tonight in the meeting room of the Dale Shaffer Library. The meeting will feature a presentation by Laura Peskin on “Pre-Civil War Women of Columbiana County”.

Peskin, a local historian and author of three books, is active in local historical societies and contributes to their publications.

In the 1990s she started a collectibles business and later earned a master’s of arts at John Carroll University. She has self-published two books on a series called “Deep Cover Cleveland: 99 Little Known Things about Northeast Ohio.” Copies of her books will be available at her presentation.

The meeting is open to the public. Entrance is off South Lundy Avenue with parking in the Timberlane’s parking lot.
