‘A Day in the Life of a Civil War Soldier’ to be presented at Pioneer Village Saturday

EAST LIVERPOOL–Friends of Beaver Creek State Park will present “A Day in the Life of a Civil War Soldier” from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday at Pioneer Village, recreating the everyday routine of a soldier during the Civil War. Visitors can tour encampments and learn directly from artillery and infantry reenactors. Opening ceremonies and drill demonstrations start at noon. Get close to a cannon. Black powder demonstrations include cannon and musket firing. Get pictures taken in civil war clothing (uniforms provided). Meet Abe and Mary Todd Lincoln as they stroll around the village. Gather at the barn shortly after noon, when the speaker series begins. Relax for a while and enjoy Civil War period music presented by Alice, Earl and Eric Whitehill. Tour the village noon to 4 p.m. and visit the trading post for refreshing drinks, snacks and souvenirs. The event is free to attend.
