W. Va. man sentenced for possession

LISBON – Gabriel J. Rocchio, 31, New Cumberland, W.Va., was sentenced in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to 12 months in prison and had his license suspended for 12 months for three counts of possession of drugs.

According to court documents Rocchio had .1 gram of cocaine and 1 gram of heroin in his possession on July 19, 2012, after he and another person purchased the drugs from a woman in Calcutta. The drugs were later discovered during a traffic stop in the area of state Route 11 southbound ramp in St. Clair Township.

Additionally, Rocchio had a small baggie of crack cocaine concealed in his shoe on April 6, 2012.

He was credited with 144 days already served.

Natalie M. Flannigan, 30, Staunton Avenue, East Liverpool, was dishonorably terminated from her intervention treatment plan for possession of drugs. She was sentenced to 90 days in jail and placed on four years probation. Her license was suspended for six months. Court documents state on Oct. 1, 2011, Flannigan was in possession of heroin, located on a spoon in her makeup bag after she was arrested.
