Alliance man charged with felony domestic violence

GOSHEN TOWNSHIP- An Alliance man Monday afternoon was arrested for felony domestic violence after an alleged dispute with his son over the weekend.

Dennis R. Ball II, 43, 315 E. Cambridge St., Alliance, was charged with a fourth-degree felony count of domestic violence after turning himself in.

According to the report filed by Officer Kevin Ragan, he responded with Officer Matthew Beck to a residence in the 11000 block of Middletown Road in Goshen Township at 10:50 p.m. Saturday where the alleged victim, Korie R. Ball, 22, told officers that his father had arrived earlier that night and became upset about his drinking at the home, punching him in the face and shoving him to the ground following a brief verbal altercation. Korie Ball said that his father then punched and kicked him in the face multiple times while making unspecified threats toward him. Dennis Ball left prior to officers’ arrival.

Officers reportedly observed bruising and swelling under Korie Ball’s eye, as well as a cut on the back of his head. Damascus EMS responded to the scene to evaluate the victim, but he declined medical treatment. A witness on scene refused to provide a statement about the incident.

Dennis Ball is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday in Sebring. He was convicted of a first-degree misdemeanor of domestic violence in December 2010 in North Canton, according to online court dockets.
