Man pleads guilty to stabbing attack

LISBON – A Calcutta-area man will be sentenced July 29 after he pleaded guilty to attacking another man with a knife and screwdriver.

Chad A. Smith, 39, Sprucevale Road, East Liverpool, pleaded guilty as charged to felonious assault in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court.

According to court records, Smith attacked Bradley Gibson II, 39, of Hookstown, Pa., stabbing and cutting him in the chest and thigh with a screwdriver and knife. The attack occurred at the St. Clair Township home of Cena Harris, Maple Drive, on Sept. 8, 2012.
