Salem man pleads guilty to sexual contact with girl, 5
LISBON – A Salem man accused of sexual contact with a 5-year-old girl while she sat on his lap pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to three charges, a week before his case was to go to trial.
Roger L. Gonda, 65, Franklin Street, Salem, pleaded guilty Tuesday to two counts gross sexual imposition and one count of importuning. He faces up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine. Sentencing is set for July 12.
According to court documents, Gonda was accused of having contact with the girl in June and July 2012, including last July 29. He also reportedly graphically told her about sexual acts he wanted to do with her on that day.
Gonda had access to the child while he was associated with the Southeast Friends Church in June and July 2012.
In another court case, Joseph D. Johns, 27, Lynchburg Road, Kensington, pleaded guilty to theft for depriving Lisa Linrode, the owner of two 12-gauge shotguns and a .45-caliber semi-automatic pistol of her weapons and selling them. Johns faces up to three years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Sentencing is set for July 12.
