EL man pleads guilty to break-ins

LISBON – The man who broke into several East Liverpool area homes late last summer pleaded guilty Thursday afternoon to 10 charges, including burglary and receiving stolen property.

David Sisco, 22, last known address Tague Street, East Liverpool, could face up to 36 years in prison if the sentences on all 10 charges are served consecutively. However, Assistant County Prosecutor Ryan Weikart said he will ask Judge Scott Washam for a six-year sentence. The minimum possible is two years.

A request made by Sisco for a recognizance bond so he could see family and put some affairs in order before his incarceration was denied by Washam.

One at a time Thursday, Sisco entered a guilty plea to the charges – three counts of second-degree felony burglary; three counts of third-degree felony burglary; two counts of receiving stolen property, both fifth-degree felonies; a misdemeanor receiving stolen property and a misdemeanor misuse of credit cards.

In court documents, one count involved trespassing into the Pennsylvania Avenue home of Jessica Williams while the home was occupied on July 13, 2012. In that case, Sisco and co-defendant Ashley Bable reportedly entered the home through a basement door and stole several items including a necklace, television, computer, monitor, Nintendo Wii, clothing and a backpack.

Another count noted on Aug. 20, 2012, Sisco entered the home of Gerald Potts, College Street, East Liverpool, going in through the front door and stealing a television set and Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia. A third count states Sisco took Potts’ belongings to the home of another co-defendant, Rebecca Sisco, Marcust Street, East Liverpool, and stored them.

On Aug. 22, 2012, David Sisco reportedly went to the home of Francis and Phyllis Conto, Old Fredricktown Road, East Liverpool, entered through the garage door and stole firearms, BB guns, a television, a savings account book and miscellaneous jewelry.

On Aug. 28, 2012, Sisco used a back door to enter the home of Richard and Marsha Webb, Henry Avenue, East Liverpool. From that home he took a video recorder and miscellaneous jewelry. Several of those items were sold the same day at Direct Jewelry Outlet in Boardman.

Then on Sept. 7, 2012, Sisco, allegedly with co-defendant Bable, went into the house of Robert and Marcia Bloor, Vine Street, East Liverpool, while the homeowner was in the yard mowing. Items taken from that home included a firearm, a wallet, jewelry, coins and a laptop. On Sept. 8, another count said Sisco used a credit card belonging to the Bloors to purchase $75 in gas at DP station in New Waterford.

Finally, on Sept. 10, court documents state Sisco broke into the home of Vincent Emler, Avondale, East Liverpool, walking away with miscellaneous coins.

A presentencing investigation will be conducted by the probation department prior to the sentencing scheduled for Aug. 8.

Rebecca Sisco and Bable, 26, West Seventh Street, East Liverpool, also both face similar charges. Bable pleaded in April to two counts of burglary and two counts of receiving stolen property, while four counts of misuse of credit cards were dismissed. She is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 8 as well.

Rebecca Sisco, 24, has a jury trial currently scheduled for July 10 for charges of receiving stolen property and two counts of misuse of credit cards. Additionally a status conference is scheduled for her next week for five additional counts of receiving stolen property and two counts of misuse of a credit card.
