New Waterford man pleads guilty to receiving stolen property charge

LISBON – Bradley A. Carpenter, 28, Creek Road, New Waterford, pleaded guilty in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court Monday to receiving stolen property for a pickup he was driving last July 8.

However, Carpenter will not be sentenced until after other charges involving a methamphetamine lab are dealt with. A jury trial is scheduled June 11 for those charges including possession of chemicals to manufacture meth, illegal manufacturing of drugs and prohibitions involving the purchase of pseudoephendrine products.

The charge Carpenter pleaded to on Monday involved a stolen pickup belonging to Charles Rogers. The pickup was reported stolen July 8 from the Salem Walmart parking lot.

According to Assistant County Prosecutor Tammie Riley Jones, Carpenter was stopped later that same day driving the stolen pickup erratically in New Waterford.

A presentencing investigation was ordered.
