EL man charged with aggravated burglary, assault
LISBON – Robert A. Ross Jr., 24, Northside Avenue, East Liverpool, was charged with aggravated burglary, felonious assault and a firearms specification. According to court documents, Ross is accused of trespassing into the East Eighth Street, East Liverpool, home of Daniel Carnes on June 8. Additionally, Ross allegedly harmed Carnes using a Taurus .38-caliber revolver.
Assistant county Prosecutor John Gamble said Ross is accused of breaking into the home of Carnes and hitting him in the head with the butt of the gun. A battle for the gun ensued and the gun went off with the bullet striking Carnes. Then Ross was reportedly severely beaten by someone in the home using a baseball bat.
Derrick A. Bruce, 26, South Senaca Avenue, Alliance, was served a secret indictment for a theft charge. According to court documents, Bruce is accused of taking miscellaneous television sets, including LCD and LED TVs, an RCA home theater system, flame helmet and a can opener from the Walmart in Salem between April 5 and April 18.
Tanaya R. Schoonover, 26, last known address in Steubenville, is charged with possession of drugs for allegedly having heroin in her possession on July 26, 2012.
The indictments were issued by the Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury in June.
