Sentencing for Salem man postponed until September
SALEM – A sentencing hearing was continued for a Salem man who plead guilty to receiving stolen property in March.
According to Mahoning County Common Pleas Court records, Robert L. Martin, 47, of 8688 Salem-Unity Road and owner of Yukon Construction in Salem, was set to be sentenced on Tuesday but it was continued until Sept. 19. His attorney appeared before Judge John M. Durkin on Tuesday, a court spokesperson said.
Martin was originally scheduled to be sentenced on April 26 but it was continued until May 30, then until June 30 and again on July 30.
Martin was charged with four counts of receiving stolen property following an investigation by several area law enforcement agencies including the Salem police last September.
Receiving stolen property is a third-degree felony when the value of the property is in excess of $150,000 and Martin faces one to five years for each count.
He could also be fined of up to $10,000 on each count.
Authorities said Martin had a clean record before his arrest.
