Woman gets concurrent sentence for drug possession

LISBON – Lee Ann Degarmo-Arndt, 34, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs and was sentenced in Columbiana County Common Pleas Court to nine months in prison. Court documents state she had less than a gram of heroin in her bra when she was searched on May 24, 2012. The prison sentence will run concurrently with eight-month sentence she is currently serving for violating her parole in a complicity to receiving property case, involving stolen checks. Additionally, her license was suspended for six months.

Ian D. Thomas, 23, Youngstown, was found in violation of his parole and sentenced to six months in prison consecutive to the time he is currently serving in Mahoning County, where he was sentenced to 36 months in prison earlier this month on a weapon’s charge. He was credited here with 67 days served. Court documents state he had taken $8,000 in currency from the home of Kathleen Benco in December 2009.

John W. Jarvis II, 36, Eighth Street, Wellsville, was found in violation of his probation on two cases from 2012 and sentenced to nine months in prison. The sentences will be concurrent on both cases. Jarvis’ convictions were for heroin and cocaine possession, as well as theft and criminal tools in his possession when he broke into a Beech Street home on Aug. 2, 2012.

The Columbiana County Common Pleas Court grand jury issued a no bill, determining there was not enough evidence to indict Ronald W. Boyer, 50, Michigan Avenue, East Liverpool, in September. Boyer had been accused of domestic violence. The case was dismissed.
